Pappelina- fine swedish rugs

It started in Dalarna, Sweden when Lina found a stock of plastic ribbons at a weavery. She has taken a modern spin on the traditional 'rag rug' which was woven with recycled cloth. Plastic rugs became popular in the 1960s amongst housewives because they were much easier to clean. Pappelina rugs are made of high quality, non toxic Swedish plastic. Now they are back again with a contemporary style but still using the traditional weaving methods and fine Swedish craftsmanship. The Pappelina rugs may have gone global but it is still a small scale business with their roots firmly in Dalarna.
